  • What's your current superpower? Is there a superpower you wish to possess?
  • A superpower I currently have is the ability to connect with people instantly. Something I wish to possess is the ability to fly (Flights are expensive, and the world is a big place!).
  • What is your favorite task on Crowdsource?
  • Glide Type, because it was overwhelming to me when I used it on my mom's Galaxy Note 3 for the first time. I could not understand how just by swiping my fingers, I am able to type out text and I was really excited to see the task on the app for the first time.
  • Which country would you like to visit?
  • I've always wanted to visit Finland and see why it has been ranked the happiest country in the world for the longest time. Another bucket list destination is Iceland to witness the Northern Lights.
  • What/who inspires you the most in life?
  • I am inspired by every person I meet in the community. I love listening to the stories of different people and learning from them.
  • If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
  • Trust yourself and the process. There is nothing you cannot do. Just don’t be afraid of failure. You will not know if you’re good at something till you try.

Tell us how your journey with Crowdsource began.

I became a Crowdsource Influencer in 2019, with no experience in hosting events or talking to large audiences but with this passion to build something on my own and make it self-sustainable. Soon after, in 2020, the pandemic shut everything, and we had no directions on how to properly communicate with anyone. This is when I came across an event- Crowdsource Quidditch hosted by three Influencers together and I decided to participate in it to get a better understanding of online events. I also received invitations for On Air with Crowdsource sessions and campaigns from the Crowdsource Team, which further made things fall into perspective.

What inspired you to be a part of Crowdsource?

This is for everyone who asks me, “What do you get out of the community?”, “How can we become like you?”.
When things started getting back to normal, I started traveling, exploring different parts of Himachal Pradesh. There, for the first time, I found out that I cannot communicate with everyone in English. I learned about the diversity of our country and the different languages that are spoken in different regions. Not to mention, these regions have local languages of their own. That got me thinking about how I can help these people with technology and in turn, help myself in being able to communicate with them easily.
The community felt like the right approach to get the representation of different languages and a way to meet people who are different from you. I sat down with the program managers to think of a way to motivate people from different regions in India to build language communities in their regions.

How has Crowdsource helped you?

Crowdsource has helped me in creating an identity for myself and I'll always be grateful to the program managers for trusting me with pilot projects like Getting Started as an Influencer, the Mentorship Program and Crowdsource Learning Community, as well as helping me every step of the way to successfully execute them. Every opportunity that I grabbed and every person that I met through this community, has been consequential in shaping me. Before this, I never saw myself as a leader who would be able to stand and talk in front of 100 people. The key is to never settle but to build something that will be there even if you’re not.

What keeps you motivated in your journey with Crowdsource after five years?

Visible improvement in products keep me going on this mission to contribute towards Crowdsource, the notifications from the app “Your contributions are making a difference.” is a great reminder of this.
I realized the impact that I have created in the community during the Crowdsource Reconnect Event in Google's Bangalore office where I met a bunch of top contributors who recognized me from my previous L17 Hangouts and Getting Started as an Influencer call. They told me how inspired and motivated they were to host their first event and how the Getting Started as an Influencer session helped them. I realized sitting in the conference room with 30 other like-minded folks that in the course of 5 years, the people who talk about Crowdsource have changed but the passion with which they talk has only become stronger.

What are you looking forward to?

Mentor global influencers and new community members. Somewhere down the line, I have this dream of putting up large-scale events for the community along with the team. And help build language communities in all the regional languages of India.

Try Crowdsource. Make a difference.
