Introducing a new way to reward your contributions to Crowdsource!

Your contributions to Crowdsource help make Google products more inclusive and equitable so that they work equally well for everyone. To make your experience with Crowdsource even more delightful, we have taken your request of integrating the level of effort required to contribute to different tasks into account. We are excited to introduce to you our new points-based reward system!

What's new?

We have launched a new way to reward contributions to Crowdsource. You will now earn points for each contribution that you make. The number of points awarded will increase based on the question difficulty. You will also receive extra points if other users answer the same way you did.

The achievement levels and leaderboards are now based on points (instead of the number of answers) and there are more levels to reach! Your existing answer stats have been maintained and have also been translated into a new point total and level.

How will this work

The number of points awarded to a user will increase based on the difficulty of the task. For instance, if you contribute to the ‘Food Facts’ (1 point) and ‘Translation’ tasks (8 points), then you achieve a total of 9 points. Compared to the previous system, you would achieve only 2 contributions in total.

What's even more exciting is that over time, if other users share similar answers as yours, you are set to receive extra points!

Why is it important?

The points-based system has been engineered to recognize different task types, how easy or difficult it is to contribute to them and improve the quality of contributions.

• Crowdsource tasks are varied and can require different levels of effort for each of them. The intent is to reward each task based on the difficulty of the function.
• Achieving a level up is that much easier now! With our new points system, choose tasks you enjoy to reach the next level with every new point you collect. We’re rooting for you!

How do you know if you are on the latest update?

Visit Crowdsource on Google Play . If you do not see the 'Update' button, you are good to go and are already on the latest version.
